Knives Out
“Get Your Cut” was an immersive experience that tied back to the film’s murder mystery themes and invited fans to investigate all of the film’s marketing materials for clues for a chance to win $250,000 and other prizes.
I collaborated with the project team to create the site and sweepstakes, and wrote the clues for fans to solve. Each clue reflected the characters and themes of the film to draw audiences in without spoiling the whodunnit. Incredibly proud for the team and I to have won a Clio Award!
Puss In Boots: The Last Wish
Working with designers, producers, and fellow copywriters we brought Puss, Perrito, and all the fairytale friends to TikTok! Our custom content launched The Last Wish into the zeitgeist and brought fans, new and old, to the theaters to rejuvenate the beloved franchise.
I worked hard to create a consistent tone that reflected the daring and playful personality of Puss himself. Through the team’s dedication and acute understanding of the cultural moment we won ourselves a Clio. Magic!
She-Ra & the Princesses of Power
Coming up with social concepts to keep a devoted fanbase satiated between season drops was a real challenge. Posts that became interactive with simple concepts, finger-on-the-pulse memes (that got talent to chime in on social), and content that genuinely reflected the show’s cherished characters filled the void and boosted engagement. We also created a VR site that helped launch the rebooted property. I wrote custom VO, worked with talent, and was continually researching for new ways how to bring the world of Etheria into our own. Ideating and executing for this show was a delight.
SpongeBob: Sponge on the Run
On the day of the trailer drop for SpongeBob’s latest movie, I inhabited the voice of Bikini Bottom’s most lovable resident. With custom replies and film-specific GIFs, I interacted with a devoted fan base as the love for all things SpongeBob went out across social channels. Being SpongeBob for a day was a blast and sharing and spreading the genuine joy with fans was an infectious and unforgettable experience.
Space Jam: A New Legacy
I hopped back in time to the 90’s and collaborated with designers, writers, and producers to rekindle the magic of the original film and connect to Space Jam: A New Legacy. The new site was a total home run. Oh, wait, I mean slam dunk.
I even got to work with the creators of the iconic website for the first that utterly ruled the old World Wide Web. Flash forever!
Hellboy
Working closely with a designer, we created a tarot-inspired social post that reflected the film’s aesthetic and world-building. I take pride in creating social content that encapsulates a property’s look and feel and immediately communicates that experience to the audience.
Pinky Malinky
Pinky’s debut season on Netflix was coupled with a month-long social presence to boost his profile. By playing as Pinky on social and interacting with fans, an organic bond and excitement was generated for the show’s launch period. Curated clips of the show highlighted the hyper-positive, relentless humor and helped get the word out on the hottest hot dog around.
Under the Radar
For Under the Radar magazine, I’ve reviewed films and comic books as well as interviewed influential directors (I’m not worthy!) and cutting edge artists. Analyzing and discussing the creative process is a joy for me and helps make my own work more insightful, resonant, and engaging.
Even More About Me!
I’ve been writing since I wrote a laughably transparent science fiction story in high school. Have I gotten better? Who knows, but at least people pay me now. That’s what the creative process is all about.
Jokes aside, I truly believe a well-told story is the best way to reach an audience.
I also write, design, and illustrate role-playing adventure modules and host live sessions at conventions, game shops, bars, and the court of Monarch Leopold XI of Zangar Prime.
